There are, of course, a wide range of factors at work here. To begin, “signs of the same element are most attracted to each other in Vedic astrology because they share common themes in life,” Vedic astrologer Griffin Damron tells Bustle. “Fire signs follow their creative inspirations, Air signs follow their social impulses, Water signs follow their intuitive feelings, and Earth signs follow their material desires.

It’s comparable to Western astrology, where signs of the same element complement one another because they have similar traits and modes of expressing their energy. Fire signs, for example, are passionate, strong-willed, and ambitious. Earth signs are slow to move, practical, and grounded. Air signs are social, communicative, and intellectual. Water signs are emotional, sensitive, and intuitive.

1) Zodiac Signs of Aries (March 21 – April 19): Cancer, Libra, Sagittarius

For a variety of reasons, these three zodiac signs are naturally drawn to Aries. Cancer zodiac signs want to feel safe, so “they feel a pull towards this take-charge sign,” according to Barretta. Cancer appreciates the fact that Aries encourages them to step outside of their “shell” and try new things. Aries and Cancer have a square aspect in astrology, which means they are 90 degrees apart on the zodiac wheel. This aspect can be difficult, but it has the potential to create sexual tension, unlike anything they’ve ever experienced.

Libra can also help to balance out Aries. They keep each other in check, usually before Aries does something too rash.

According to Barretta, Leo zodiac signs enjoy spoiling their loved ones, which is what comfort-seeking Taurus is all about. These signs may easily enjoy one other’s company and the mutual benefits of a stable, enduring partnership. Taurus and Leo have a strong emotional bond, as astrologer Clarisse Monahan previously told Bustle. They both place a high emphasis on love and desire for a committed union. Since they are fixed signs, there is a significant probability that they will make a lifelong commitment to one another.

Since Venus, the planet of love, rules both Taurus and Libra, both signs have a taste for the better things in life and will like dining and drinking together as well as going on dates.

3) Zodiac Signs of Gemini (May 21 — June 20): Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius

As a sign that enjoys socializing, Leos are drawn to the equally gregarious Gemini. “This couple enjoys drama, and both signs can sustain it,” Barretta says. It can lead to a flurry of relationships that don’t always last, but the attraction is still strong. Leos enjoy being the center of attention, whereas Geminis are naturally curious signs who enjoy meeting new people. They’ll get along great, especially in the beginning.

Then there’s Virgo, which, like Gemini, is ruled by Mercury. That means they’re all about communication, so they value a Gemini who can hold their end of the conversation.

4) Cancer Zodiac Signs: Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces (June 21 – July 22)

Scorpio zodiac signs crave trust and security in a relationship, so they may fall for a Cancer zodiac sign because this sign can tap into other people’s emotions, according to Damron. Scorpio will feel supported and “seen” the moment they meet, sparking a strong attraction. Cancer and Scorpio will both appreciate being with someone who understands their mood swings and knows how to deal with them properly.

Capricorn is Cancer’s polar opposite, and they are drawn to her “because they see in Cancer what they lack themselves,” Damron says.

5) Leo Zodiac Signs: Libra, Scorpio, and Pisces (July 23 – August 22)

According to Barretta, Libra is a sign that yearns for a devoted relationship, which is where Leo genuinely excels. These two have a natural desire to organize romantic dates and dinners for one another. Since both Libra and Leo have real loving hearts, their union will seem like the stuff of fairytales to both signs.

Leos also have a strong attraction to Scorpios since they appreciate being with people who are serious about forming relationships. Leos are eager to offer them all the time and attention they could ever need, and both signs savor every second of it. This might not be the ideal fit for them in the long run.

7) Taurus, Cancer, Aquarius, and Libra (September 23–October 22) Zodiac Signs

It has the potential to be immediately very attractive. Libra will like having a cozy place to call home, and Cancer will appreciate how loving and kind she can be.

Taurus and Libra are both Venus-ruled zodiac signs, and Venus is the planet of love. These two are drawn to the idea of cozy, inside dates where they can just enjoy being together. Taurus may have to cope with flirty Libra, which might make Taurus feel awkward.

Because Cancer is a sign that likes to keep things quiet, Damron writes that Cancer respects Scorpio’s “capacity to confront and overcome the darker elements of life that they […] like to avoid.” They’ll develop a strong crush on them the instant they witness how well they manage a challenging scenario. Scorpio will be drawn to how kind and caring Cancer is, and they will have little trouble falling in love.

“Scorpios, on the other hand, eschew caution and ride a wave of emotional highs and lows, profits and losses. This supposedly reckless attitude will appeal to [Taurus].” Taurus and Scorpio are a fantastic fit sexually because Taurus is highly sensuous and Scorpio is very passionate.

9) Zodiac Signs for Sagittarius (November 22–December 21) Pisces, Aquarius, and Gemini

According to Barretta, Gemini zodiac signs are willing to pack their bags and depart on a journey at a moment’s notice, which is why they’ll fall in love with Sagittarius, who is also known to do the same. They are both amiable, upbeat zodiac signs who will appreciate one another’s company. Additionally, since they are each autonomous, neither will feel as though the other is restraining them.

The same is true of Aquarius. There is typically attraction and understanding between these two signs since they don’t like to be tied down. They’ll click, and then they’ll start immediately organizing a significant vacation.

10) Taurus, Cancer, and Virgo are the Capricorn zodiac signs (December 22 through January 19).

According to Barretta, Leo’s zodiac signs are all about the arts and will be motivated by a creative Pisces. Leo may choose them as their inspiration for a future project, in which case they won’t be able to stop thinking about them. This is a lively couple that will enjoy fantasizing about the future together.

Since Pisces and Virgo are opposites and complement each other, Virgo will also find themselves attracted to them. According to Damron, Pisces is drawn to them because they teach them to let go and go with the flow, which is a skill that a highly organized Virgo requires.
