Crystals are well known for their healing capabilities as well as the assistance they can provide in terms of alignment and balance. As a result, breaking a crystal can be dramatic, upsetting, and even frightening. Owners may have put a lot of hope or desire into their selected stone, and breaking it may appear to be a sign of bad luck or negative energy. With this in mind, I consulted two professionals – healers Emma Lucy Knowles and Bex Milford – to get their advice on what to do if your crystal breaks.

She informs me, using her own experience as an example, “I personally don’t think any meaning should be attached to it when a crystal breaks. “I always wear a citrine point on my necklace and have done for years. I wear it everywhere. There is a small chip at the end from where I knocked it, but I still adore it more than before. It proves that I have possessed it.

Author of The Power of Crystal Healing Emma Knowles concurs. She thinks it can be advantageous to smash a crystal.

In reality, she claims, it’s a very good sign. “Crystals break for a variety of reasons, including: Because they are ‘full,’ and they are releasing everything they have shifted and held for you; because they have completed their ‘job,’ the intention, the task you set them; because the crystal, like us, is attempting to return to its most natural state; and because when they break, they open up more surface area and thus facets for healing and love.”

You have two alternatives when a crystal breaks. You have the option of repairing it or letting it go. Both are fine, according to Knowles and Milford.

Milford advises you to collect as many of the little bits as you can if you intend to fix it. Then, she advises, “see whether you can simply repair with a powerful superglue.” If it can’t be fixed, make sure the crystal isn’t in danger of breaking even more and store it in a secure location.

She continues, “Try adding this to a candle if there is no hope for it and it is in tiny pieces. Beautiful crystal fragments are sparkling within the wax that is melting.

Milford advises placing your crystal near clear quartz or selenite after you’ve fixed it to give it time to gather energy. This gives it energy and aids in its recovery of full strength.

Milford clarifies that it is also acceptable if you feel compelled to get a new crystal. Don’t, however, dump your old one in the trash. Crystals communicate with us on a subconscious level, so pay attention to what your inner voice is saying. If you believe your time with this crystal is through, she advises, “bury it in your garden, express thanks for all that it has given you, and buy another.”
