What Is Ganpati Visarjan Vidhi and How Do I Do It At Home?
Before bidding farewell to Bappa, you might do the following Ganpati Visarjan puja vidhi rituals:
In the morning, do aarti for Lord Ganesha with your family and friends. Sing Bappa’s traditional aarti song. ‘Sukh Karta Dukh Harta’ and ‘Jai Ganesh Deva’ are two famous songs to sing when doing aarti.
Offer flowers, scents, and home-cooked delicacies to the Lord by lighting diyas and incense sticks.
Everyone should gather in front of the puja altar when the Muhurat for Ganesh Visarjan approaches. They might take Ganesha’s idol and leave the house after performing aarti.
Thank the Lord for dwelling with you and expressing your gratitude for hearing your prayers. Express your thanks for the enormous happiness and blessings bestowed upon them by Bappa throughout their stay.
Thank the Lord for eliminating all impediments in your way. Thank you is essential for pleasing the Lord and making him feel appreciated.
Offer akshata (raw rice mixed with turmeric powder) to Ganpati Bappa. Bappa should have some curd in his hands.
In a crimson cloth, place a dried coconut, jaggery, and 5 grains. Keep this knotted cloth close to Bappa; it serves as a supper for the Lord’s journey.
Sprinkle some water on the person performing the Ganpati Visarjan rites.
Take the Lord’s idol, hold it, and go around your house. This will fill your home with Ganesha’s presence and elegance, including the bedrooms, kitchen, and other spaces.
Continue to chant ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and other mantras with joy and passion.
Bring Bappa’s idol out of your house. Another person should take a coconut and make three circles around the Lord’s head before breaking it on the floor.
Keep the coconut with you as you begin your trek to Visarjan. During Visarjan, the coconut, along with the idol, should be submerged.
When you arrive, place the idol on a table and perform aarti for the final time with everyone.
Remove all of the floral embellishments and outer curtains off the idol. Discard or store the removed decorations in a suitable location.’
Finally, bring the idol to the Visarjan location and immerse it.
Along with the idol, you can offer Visarjan the following items:
If applicable, the puja Kalash.
