Many folks are focusing on the eerie and frightening now that Halloween is so close. Many people associate serial killers with this. Interest in this unique species of violent criminal stays strong at all times, but especially during this season, and the fascination with actual crime generates large audiences for podcasts, TV series, and movies.
The death of Gabby Petito and the startling news that a group specialized in cold cases believes it has finally identified the Zodiac killer who tormented San Francisco in the 1960s have piqued the public’s curiosity.
Even the most sensitive and educated psychiatrists, academicians, and criminologists in the world are baffled as to what makes a serial murderer – is it child abuse, mental illness, something else, or all of the above?
There is still much that scientists don’t know about serial murderers, and in light of the remarkable growth of astrology since the epidemic (it is now a $2.2 billion business), we decided to look at the most prevalent astrological signs of well-known serial killers.
Are the majority of them fiery Leos or cunning Libras? We researched over 500 documented serial murderers from around the world to determine which symptoms may be overrepresented among some of history’s most legendary murders.
Important findings:
Nearly 40% of serial killers are born under the sign of Cancer, Pisces, Sagittarius, or Scorpio. Gemini and Taurus account for only 11% of the total.
Killers born under the sign of Capricorn killed more people overall and on average than those born under any other sign. They killed almost 800 individuals in total, or 19 on average; Virgo murderers had the lowest average, with seven victims apiece.
Water signs (Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio) had the largest number of killers and victims in our research, accounting for 28% of killers and 27% of victims.
What Is Their Symbol?
A few sun signs dominated the list of the 485 serial murderers included in our analysis: Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, and Sagittarius had 46 apiece, making them the four most prevalent signs among serial killers. Taurus and Gemini were the least common, at 27 apiece.
The top four indicators account for 38% of all serial killers in our data, whereas the bottom two account for only 11%.
Many astrologers will not be shocked to see Scorpio at the top of this list, considering that the sign’s main flaws include aggressiveness, manipulation, and envy. Similarly, Pisces may be prone to letting their exterior emotions run wild, Cancer may feel alone due to their inability to blend in with the world around them, and Sagittarius approaches life with no filter on their words or deeds.
How many people did they slaughter?
The killers on our list were responsible for at least 5,125 homicides. It’s crucial to note that we utilized legally confirmed or widely accepted figures to determine how many people each serial murderer murdered, although many serial killers are suspected of much more killings than the police have been able to establish.
Nonetheless, some signs are deadlier than others in terms of the number of persons slain. Capricorn serial killers, although accounting for fewer overall murderers than signs such as Scorpio or Sagittarius, were significantly deadlier in total, killing 813 individuals. Taurus murderers, on the other hand, are responsible for slightly more than 200 homicides.
Given that Taurus is renowned for being obstinate, possessive, and uncompromising, it may come as a surprise to see that sign near the bottom of the list when it comes to the overall number of Taurus serial murderers victims. Taurus is a tough sign, yet they are also emotional and tender.
Given that Capricorns are known for their discipline and self-control, serial killers born under this sign may be going against their nature. Capricorns, on the other hand, are notorious for being inflexible when it comes to forcing people to comply with their ideals. They are also prone to secrecy and are ready to reply with defensiveness.
Element Killers and Victims
Water signs – Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio — account for the greatest number of killers and victims on our list. Earth signs — Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus — have the fewest murderers, while fire signs — Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius — have the fewest victims.

Harold Shipman, a UK physician, is suspected to have murdered more than 200 of his own patients between 1975 and 1998 by injecting them with a sort of medicinal heroin and then manipulating their medical records to make it appear like they were in terrible condition. Shipman was convicted of 15 charges of murder and eventually committed suicide in jail. Shipman is one of our 42 Capricorn serial murderers.
On our list, Samuel Little is the most lethal American serial murderer. Little admitted to 93 murders between 1970 and 2005 before he died in jail in 2020, yet only 61 deaths have been confirmed. Because Little usually targeted vulnerable populations, such as sex workers and drug addicts, many of the deaths went uninvestigated, making it harder to pin the crimes on Little. Little is one of the 46 serial murderers on our list who was born under the sign of Cancer.
State Victims
We wanted to know which states have the most victims as well as which sun signs are more popular for serial murderers and what it would mean about their proclivity to kill. To do so, we resorted to a recent World Population Review investigation, which examined FBI data and discovered that Alaska had the greatest number of serial murderer victims per 100,000 population, with little over 7 per 100,000. The top five are Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana.
Conclusion
There is a lengthy list of things that must go wrong in a person’s life for them to become a serial murderer, and none of them have anything to do with the sign they were born under. However, it is obvious that a few sun signs are vastly overrepresented among known murders throughout history.
